The "bass line" is usually created with sampled sources or synthesizers. Drum and bass sub-genres include drum-step, break-core, ragga jungle, hardcore, dark-step, ambient drum and bass, and more importantly liquid funk and Intelligent drum and bass. Despite its roots in the UK, the style has more recently established itself around the world.
