KNXR went on the air December 24, 1965 at 97.5 MHz on the FM dial in Rochester, Minnesota with Tom Jones as co-owner. After 50 years of service, Mr. Jones and his company sold the station in 2015. Soon after that, he began streaming the same music on the Internet, branded as "97Five."
