El 14 de agosto de 1986, la estación fue relanzada como FM Horizonte, dedicada principalmente a programación musical, transmitiendo durante 15 años bajo esa denominación. En 1993, Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat adquirió una participación accionaria de Horizonte y Radio El Mundo. En 1999, El Mundo y Horizonte fueron vendidos a una empresa integrada por Constancio Vigil hijo, Gustavo Yankelevich y Víctor González.
