Nació como Radio Universidad del Norte FM en 1966, hoy Radio Sol llega al adulto y adulto joven de Antofagasta, Mejillones, Baquedano y centros mineros por el 97.7. Es poseedora de un Premio Apes a la Mejor Proyección Radial de Regiones 2005.
