2CC is a commercial radio station on the AM band in Canberra, Australia. It is jointly owned by regional radio operators Capital Radio Network and Grant Broadcasters. 2CC produces a high level of local content, providing a talkback format for the Canberra market, which is above the level required under the Broadcasting Services Act. Their commitment to localism is shown by the number of local news and talkback programs they provide for the Canberra market. 32.5 hours of local programming are provided Monday to Friday. 12 hours of local programming is provided on the weekend. Local newsroom provides half-hourly bulletins for the Canberra market in breakfast and drive programs, and hourly till 6pm. Newsroom provides weekend news on the half hour from 6am till Noon. These programs provide the Canberra community with news, information and talkback for the A.C.T. with local programming highlighted in red. SHOWS 2CC provides a Canberra-based breakfast program with Tim Shaw from 5.30am to 9.00am and Chris Coleman hosts Canberra Live' 3-6pm weekdays. On the weekend local programming includes Garden Gurus,Trading Post','Pet Tales' and the 'City News Sunday Roast' from 6.00am to 12.00pm hosted by Chris McLengahan, Rod Henshaw, Pete Davidson and Ian Meikle as well garden experts Paulene Cairnduff and Keith Colls, vets Shannon West, Eloise Koelmeyer and pet behaviorist Heike Hahner. NETWORK CONTENT The majority of programs on 2CC are networked from 2UE and 2GB in Sydney. Networked programs are broadcast from 9.00am to 3.00pm and from 6.00pm to 12.00am Monday to Friday and from 12.00pm to 12.00am on weekends. A mid-dawn program is networked from 2UE commencing at midnight each day. NEWS 2CC provides a 24-hour news service. Its own, locally based, Capital Radio News Service provides news bulletins from 5.30am every half-hour during its breakfast show and then hourly from 9.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday. It broadcasts locally based half-hourly news bulletins from 6.00am - 9.00am (then hourly till midday) on Saturday and Sunday mornings. At all other times, hourly news bulletins are supplied by Macquarie National News in Sydney. SPORT During the Rugby League season the "Continuous Call Team’’ is networked from 2GB in Sydney. 2CC provides live coverage of all Canberra Raiders rugby league games with its own Canberra based commentary team headed by Phil Small, Chris O'Brien & Joe Prevedello and Scott Freeman.
